Guides are also available for hire if you wish to climb mount Kenya, charges are negotiable and you will normally be guided in groups unless you stipulate you want a private guide. There is a charge for entry witch will vary according to your requirements, whether you are on foot,how many you are. whether you are using transport,which is recommended at least once as you will see more. Free maps and tourist information are available.

The property is also situated a short distance from SOLIO national game reserve, one of the biggest covering many thousands of acres. It is one of the best places in Kenya to spot black rhino they thrive amongst, oryxes, gazels, heart-besets, giraffes, lions, hyenas, buffalo and more. There is a daily fee and self drive safaris are permitted, with free maps and advice.

You are situated approximately three Km outside Nyeri the capital town of central Kenya,where you will find many fine bars, restaurants, clubs and places of interest. Including the resting place of Baden Powell the founder of the scouting movement.

Nyeri is the Central Provincial Capital near Mt Kenya, 50km, and is the historic ground of the war of independence. The Kikuyu tribe dominate, living in the former White Highlands, surrounded by the Aberdares mountain ridges next to the rift valley. You can visit lake Naivasha, the home of Flamingo's and the centre point of the Horticultural flowers exported worldwide. Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake from the surounding rivers and has the highest no of Hipopotamus. The world famous Masai mara and Amboseli national parks are a days jurney, where you can see the Masai. their Manyattas (huts) and their cultural way of living and meet their chief (by appointment).

You will find central Kenya to be a great deal cheaper and friendlier than Nairobi.
